GTR 2007

We are in LaGrange, Georgia, for one of my favorite events of the year. The Georgia Tandem Rally is always a well-planned and well-attended weekend. And this year the weather is even cooperating. It has been Beautiful here!

We arrived late Thursday night and made the 9a.m. ride Friday. 43.5 miles included a self-guided tour of Callaway Gardens - the vegetable garden and the butterfly house. After a delicious late lunch in Pine Mtn we went back to visit the fly fishing shop, the Discovery Center, the Horticulture Center and the butterflys again. Ice cream social on the square Friday evening helped us connect with friends old and new who ride tandem.

Today we slept in (this IS our vacation) and made the late/remote start ride at 10. Enjoyed a fabulous lunch at a state park as we "looped the Lake" into Alabama and back. Only 33.5 miles today. Napping now in prep for a fabulous dinner (as always) at Butts Mill Farm tonight. Then 26 miles in the morning before we hit the road for home. Makes for a great weekend!
