Farewell February

Looking back this morning over the posts I made in February confirmed that this has been an extremely stressful month for me. Which helps explain why I feel so draggy and depressed right now. But I am also thankful for some wonderful blessings in February - Alan's new job, my wonderful co-workers, sweet and supportive family, thoughtful friends, good health, adequate finances, massages, Amber, and many other daily blessings that sustained me. Thanks be to God! And all the people said "Amen."

SNOW!

What a fun and relaxing weekend we had! Again, thanks to our awesome friends the Eichelbergers (that's Kathryn in the orange coat).

We also had a "big time" at church on Sunday. Almost 7000 people attended the first services at NewSpring's new facility and more than 25 of them started a relationship with Jesus Christ. Yeah, God!

RETREAT to the mountains

Wow! The last 7 days have been EXTREMELY stressful. But I'm not over the edge any more. More like 88% capacity now. And I'm looking forward to a restful weekend.
Alan and I have some tremendous friends who own a mountain house near Brevard NC. Later today we are going there to rest! YEAH John and Kathryn Eichelberger!! Thank you so much for being our friends!!!

I have managed to exercise yesterday and today. That makes me feel so much better. And I've paid attention to eating, which never hurts. If I could only get a massage (:

Overwhelmed - merely perspective

For the last 4 days I have felt uncharacteristically overwhelmed, often paralyzed by the stress I feel in my life right now. I normally like having a lot going on. But for some reason my professional life is demanding 100% right now, my family life has diminished to a trickle (just when it needs more support and attention) and my personal life is also changing dramatically. I feel like I can barely make it through each day, and I'm getting farther and farther behind.

I haven't exercised in about a week (BAD!) and my eating is out of control. Which for me means I probably am not eating near enough. At least that's what I think this gnawing in my gut is about. I am sleeping by light medication, which produces good sleep but gives me a morning fog that is hard to shake.

I'm not desperate yet, but I am certainly tapped out. Something has got to change - preferably for the better.

Groundhog's Day

What a strange American holiday. Made even stranger by the typical commercialism. Of COURSE he saw a shadow, with all those TV cameras around. How silly!

I can't believe it is February already. I'm not even used to saying 2006 yet.

Yesterday was my darling nephew Dave's birthday. I'm such a slacker Aunt that I didn't acknowledge it with a card or even a phone call. But I am here to tell you now that Dave is one awesome guy! He is a special and unique individual, with a very sweet heart. Here he is with his beautiful wife Rachaelle.

My Arbonne Experience - today I got to try the Arbonne Aromatherapy Unwind massage oil. I had my regular massage and afterwards noticed that my therapist had some Arbonne products on a shelf in the room. I asked if she had ever used the massage oil. She had some and let me try it. She said it is too greasy for actual massage, and sure enough I rubbed it onto my hands but had to wipe off the excess with a tissue. But the fragrance was really nice and my hands seem smooth tonight. Nice!
