42 and HAPPY

What a fun birthday weekend! Friday Savannah did more driving for me and then when Alan got home we went to the Ninety Six v. Abbeville football game. Beautiful night. Close game. She enjoyed. We spent all day Saturday at the Clemson game and tailgating. Tigers WIN. Again, perfect weather. Savannah got to touch a cow at my brother's and was SO excited about that. Sunday we hit the 11:15 at NewSpring Anderson, lunched at Mellow Mushroom in Greenville and took some pics at Falls Park before dropping her at GSP for the flight home. We enjoyed having her with us for the weekend.

Last Day 41

What a beautiful day! Took a walk when Alan left (3rd day in a row). Took Savannah, visiting from Denver, out for driving practice. Lunched with Kathryn in Ninety Six and toured the farm and Annex. More driving practice. Brusters Pumpkin Pie Spice ice cream. Then home for a nap. Paddled the pond before dinner at Moe's. FIVE birthday cards arrived in today's mail. Thanks Ben & Eunice, Wayne & Sarah, Vikki, Mama and Grandma. YEAH! What a great day!!

First Day Home

I told Alan a few days ago that I feel like an addict recovering from an addiction to speed. I am WORN OUT.

Another beautiful day in Greenwood.

SO SO GRATEFUL today for the financial blessings on my family. Alan and I went 13 years in this marriage before we learned how to deal with money correctly. The blessings of the past 5 years have been so sweet. The freedom we live in is unbelievable. Not that we deserve it or are immune from disaster, but this is where we are right now, due in part at least to our commitment to doing things God's way and faithfulness in doing it together.

Finally back in Greenwood

Last Day in Spartanburg. I could not be more pleased with my transition out of TheCateLawFirm. All went well. I wrapped up things with 3 hearings in Gaffney this morning and stopped by the office to drop off my files and say goodbye.

Mama was with me for court today. Judge Bridges talks even faster than I do, so it was hard for her to follow. It made me nervous to have her watching, but I'm glad she went.

I'm happy to be home tonight. Alan and I left early Saturday morning to meet his parents for the Clemson game. It was a GOOD football Saturday. The Tigers won, the chicken curse got 'em, and many others were upset. Plus a BEAUTIFUL DAY.

Sunday I stayed at Mama's all day. Slept in. Took naps. Piddled in the yard. Read. Rested. It was great. Good thing. We left this morning at 8:15 on our 200 mile odyssey from Seneca to Gaffney via highway 11, then to Spartanburg and home to Greenwood through the country by 7:15pm. Mama met my office mates and said she had a great time. That's what matters.

My new/alternate website

Gr8NGwd I am so happy to be back in Greenwood that I created this website to celebrate.

Google is also great. Tonight Alan fixed the disposal in the kitchen sink with instructions from Google. A few nights ago I accidentally marked with an ink pen on our new, white couch. I was distraught until I Googled the solution. Windex on a q-tip. Worked like a charm. Google. How did we ever live without it.

10-10-10

Tomorrow the local cycling group will enjoy The Fertilizer Ride. Even though I may not get to go on the ride, since it may be a mountain bike ride, I think it is GREAT that there will be one to celebrate October 10th, 2010. Today Alan and I enjoyed the first ever ride for The Child's Place, our local child advocacy center. Good crowd for a first time event, and well organized too, though there is room for improvement.

I am writing today via wireless connection, sitting on our back deck watching the pond for turtles. The weather is glorious. Our new house is in town and we are enjoying the convenience. It is still a mess, however. We have a LONG to do list.

However, I am VERY happy to be here. I love the paint and new carpet. The move was stressful but uneventful. Nothing got broken. Our new furniture looks terrific. So, I guess the thing to say about the house is "it's coming along." We like our new neighbors and we are having fun meeting new people.
