Second bike ride of the year

Sunday afternoon was beautiful so we got out on the tandem, for what I THINK was the second bike ride of the year. While I was riding I thought of LOTS of things I wanted to blog about. Now it is Wednesday morning and I can't remember what I wanted to post. Urgh.

Let the gardening begin

I've been thinking it's time to plant strawberries if I want to eat them in late May. Today I almost ordered some from Park Seed, but I avoided that mistake of volume. Then when I got out of court earlier than I had expected, I went to the feed and seed. But at $4 a plant, I couldn't afford as many as I wanted. Still searching for a happy medium.

Tomorrow I hope to plant spinach and carrots.

Ruth brought me daffodils from her yard the first of Feb. Mine haven't bloomed yet. Been WAY too cold and windy. I'm ready for some warmer weather.

Last Friday we went by Death Valley and took snow pics. Wish I could post one but I'm blogging from my phone. No app for that.

Cousins Camp

I'm still recovering today but yesterday was GREAT! Apparently I wore out the little ones too at Cousins Camp. (l to r: Annalisa, Kade, Cara, Libby)

We started in my tent on the porch by sharing a story set in Alaska. That brought some interesting questions. Then we went inside and made granola bars. They got to try all the ingredients and each had a favorite. Mama cooked the bars while we went out for a "hike" around the yard. Yes, it was COLD, but at least it wasn't raining or windy. Just chilly, so we bundled. When they got tired and "hungry" we went in to eat our snack. And we smeared peanut butter on pine cones and rolled them in birdseed. So of course we had to go back outside to hang those in the tree. More "hiking" before they wanted to go inside. Next thing I knew, they were piled up in Mama's bed watching a video.

We had a FUN day together. Each one of them was very sweet and well-behaved.

What Not to Wear Friday

Just like last Friday I came home from work today and took a great nap and now I'm in front of the TV with Stacy & Clinton. Last Saturday morning we had snow/sleet. It has rained like mad today but tomorrow is Cousins Camp so hopefully the day will be increasingly clear.

It's been quite a week for SC lawyers. Two homicides.

Otherwise work is still good. Alan seems to be enjoying school. Other than crappy weather, life is good.
