On Alan's trip to camp, he took these shots of his foot beside a bear track and the toe of Doug's boot near some blueberries. He didn't see a bear, only this track, which Doug said was from a small, young bear. A full grown bear will leave a track that is as wide as Alan's foot is long.
We picked berries too and were likewise amazed that they grew so close to the ground. I used a yoga position, on my knees, to get down on the tundra and find them. They are delicious and plentiful, but tiny and low. Also saw huckleberries and cranberries. Yummy!
